Message from Rev. Clive Atkinson, Chaplain of St. Peter's

Clive Atkinston, Vicar, Saint Peter's Anglican Church, Château d'Oex - Serving Château d'Oex and Gstaad region, Switzerland

Dear Friends,

It is an honour for the congregation of St. Peter’s to open the doors of its building to the Holocaust Survivor’s Conference. I regret that I cannot be with you today as sadly I am in the UK for a conference myself.

In an age when we breathe the cultural air of “post truth” and are surrounded by so much “fake news”, it is essential that we hear, again and again, about the history shaping events of the Holocaust.  We must never tire of such retelling.

It will be a privilege today to hear from those who were there, who experienced the horrors first hand and who survived.

But it is essential that, in our hearing, we respond by committing ourselves again to shaping a world where such horrors cannot be repeated.

With kind regards,

Rev. Clive Atkinson
