St. Peter’s has purchased an automated external defibrillator (AED) which is designed for public use. The defibrillatator operates with its own software with minimal intervention.
The use of an automated external defibrillator within 3-5 minutes of collapse can produce survival rates as high as 70%. For every minute that passes without effective CPR and defibrillation, there is a 10% drop in chances of survival.
